The goal of this project was to create a prototype driving simulation console for use with computer racing and driving games. This is the first version of the "Car Sim."
In this version, I constructed a fixed platform or frame for mounting an actual car seat and
Logitech MOMO
Racing force feedback steering wheel. Then any monitor and speakers can be placed on the platform to which the wheel is mounted.
The only materials purchased new for the project were two 8' 2x3s. I cut one of these in half to use for the base beams. The other one was cut into four parts for the steering wheel platform
supports. The rest of the 2x3s, 1x2s, MDF, screws, and washers were scrap materials I already had in my posession.
Tools required for this project were along the lines of a drill, jig saw, square, measuring tape, and a pencil.
